Art to Part - Engineering Technology

Art to Part Process

The following is an example of a student project that shows how an idea becomes a product. The project, making plastic bowling pins by blow molding, exemplifies one way our state-of-the-art facilities are used to teach students career-related tasks.

  1. An AutoCAD drawing was developed.

  1. The data was transferred to Unigraphics via IGES.

Toolpath Verification with Vericut

  1. The mold cavities were milled with a Cincinnati Milacron Sabre 500 CNC milling machine.
