Major Curriculum

The Technology Education program requirements are part of the entitlement program leading to secondary education certification (grades 6-12).

The hours are divided into four sections: General Education, Technology Education Core, Professional Education, and Electives.  To learn more about each course, the prerequisites and any additional degree requirements, we suggest going to the Illinois State University catalog.

The following information is for those students who are in the 2010-2012 catalog.  For further information on your specific catalog please contact the Advisor for the department.

Electives

  • 15 hours of electives are required.  For a complete list of the electives, we recommended the student meet with the Advisor.  
  • The following are the endorsement areas in Technology Education: construction, drafting and design, electronics, graphic communication, industrial technology, manufacturing, and transportation.  
  • A 2.5 GPA is required in the major and cumulatively for the student to student teach and to graduate.
