Jaby Mohammed is an Assistant Professor of Technology at Illinois State University, where he teaches Six sigma and Parametric modeling. Jaby joined the technology department after working with Khalifa University, Purdue University, and Morehead State University. He had also worked as engineering faculty with Kentucky Governors Scholars Program for the years 2006-2012. Dr. Mohammed is a senior member of the Society of Manufacturing Engineers (SME) and Institute of Industrial Engineers (IIE). His area of research includes New Product development, human factors, six sigma, and Lean Manufacturing. He has conducted applied research in the area of laser cladding and rapid prototyping using DMD and SLS machines. His research had been sponsored by the Water furnace International, Kentucky science and engineering foundation (KSEF), a Technical assistance program from the state of Indiana (TAP), Institute of regional analysis, and public policy (IRAPP) at Morehead State University. He has published technical papers in handbooks, journals, and conference proceedings. He has mentored six graduate MS students on their thesis. His teaching interests are in the area of quality control, project management, and engineering education. Jaby holds a Ph.D. in Industrial Engineering from the University of Louisville, an MBA in operations management, and his bachelor’s in mechanical engineering from the University of Kerala.
