Biography

Dr. Pranshoo Solanki is a full professor in the Construction Management program of Department of Technology at Illinois State University. He received his doctorate in civil engineering from the University of Oklahoma in May, 2010. His research record includes approximately $1 million in external funding, over 80 publications and over 60 research presentations in a number of national/international conferences. Dr. Solanki worked on several transportation and construction projects funded by agencies such as Illinois Transportation Center, Environmental Protection Agency, National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration, and Oklahoma Department of Transportation. Dr. Solanki is a registered Professional Engineer in the United States and serving as a member of the Transportation Research Board (TRB), American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE), and American Concrete Institute (ACI). He also served as National Science Foundation (NSF) panel member, National Cooperative Highway Research Program (NCHRP) panel member, and session chairman for several national/international conferences.

Teaching Interests & Areas

Dr. Solanki continues to teach courses in the area of geotechnical engineering, construction materials and design at Illinois State University.

Research Interests & Areas

Recycling of waste materials and industrial by-products in sustainable construction, cementitious stabilization of soils (soil improvement), mechanistic pavement design, characterization of pavement/highway materials, pedagogical research.
